Cathy Chalmers, MA, LPC, NCC, LMFT

Cathy Chalmers is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Nationally Certified Counselor.  She currently conducts adoption home studies and advocates for the best interests of children through her work in permanency planning cases where attachment concerns are present.  Cathy previously worked at Tulsa Developmental Pediatrics and Center for Family Psychology and as a therapist at Shadow Mountain Institute, as a therapist in residential treatment with adolescents, latency-age children and their families.  She has served on the Board of Directors of CASA, ATTACh,  The Attachment Network and Connected Kids; was a founding member of ATTACh (Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children) and conference planner for ATTACh’s conference in Tulsa in 1997. She has served as an expert witness in court cases where the best interests of children are considered.  Cathy co-authored a book, Nurturing Healthy Attachment: Building Parent-Child Connections to last a lifetime, with Dr. Barbara Sorrels.  Cathy is married and has two daughters.
