Cathy Chalmers is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Nationally Certified Counselor. She currently conducts adoption home studies and advocates for the best interests of children through her work in permanency planning cases where attachment concerns are present. Cathy worked at Tulsa Developmental Pediatrics and Center for Family Psychology as a therapist for seven years, as well as at Shadow Mountain Institute, as a therapist in residential treatment with adolescents, latency-age children and their families, for thirteen years. She has served on the Board of Directors of CASA, ATTACh, and the Attachment Network; was a founding member of ATTACh (Association for Training on Trauma and Attachment in Children) and conference planner for ATTACh’s conference in Tulsa in 1997. Cathy is currently co-authoring a book, Dividing the Baby: How to make, wise attachment-sensitive decisions about child custody and placement. Cathy is married and has two daughters.
